FREE
Saturdays 9:30 – 10:30 AM
May 2nd through June 20th
SPONSORED BY THE FRIENDS OF MENOTOMY ROCKS PARK

When it comes to reducing the physical and mental tensions that we encounter in our daily lives, slow is the new fast! Tai Chi is meditation in motion. It is the practice of moving calmly with awareness and ease. Class work will be based on the Yang Style of Tai Chi and will include Eight Movement Form, an easy-to-learn, introductory Tai Chi set as well as the longer 24 Movement Form for those returning students. In any setting, Tai Chi can help to refocus your energy, rejuvenate your body, and ease your mind. But to do Tai Chi in the fresh morning air at Menotomy Rocks Park, with birds happily chirping all around you, is an experience not to be missed! Instructor Dorri Li is a martial artist and fitness professional based in the Boston area. With over 30 years of experience, Dorri has devoted her practice to helping students of all ages feel more focused, calm and strong.

Participants may pre-register at arlingtonrec.com

Spooky Walk 2014

Spooky Walk 2014!

Saturday, October 25, at dark (approx 6:30pm)

Spooooky Walk is coming! When darkness descends on Saturday October 25, put the kids in the costumes and head over to Menotomy Rocks Park. You’ll see spine-tingling stations along the candle-lit path around the pond, and   finish up with donuts on the Jason Street field. Entrance will be at the Jason Street gate, and please bring a flashlight.

If you want to exorcise your creative spirit and set up a spooky, but family-friendly area, please let us know. The more spooky areas, the more fun the event. Be as bare bones or elaborate as you want. Set up time starts at 3:00 that afternoon.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Carol Band (band_carol@hotmail.com) or Judy Weinberg (judylynnweinberg@gmail.com).
