Volunteer Work Day

Sunday October 20th, 1-3pm

Last year, with the help of a local Girl Scout troop and other volunteers, we started to tackle the invasive ENGLISH IVY that has migrated from adjacent yards into the Park. We’d like to take a second stab at that. The major problem is in the woods on the Spring St./Old Spring St. side of the Park. The ivy is climbing up the trees, and will eventually kill them.

We’ll meet at 1:00 at the Jason St. entrance and walk to this area. If you are able to come after 1:00, please look for us in the woods in the Old Spring St. area.

Please wear work gloves and old clothes. Loppers and pruning shears would be helpful. Thanks so much for your help.

Spooky Walk

Saturday, October 27, at dark - approximately 6:30pm

Spooooky Walk is coming! When darkness descends on Saturday October 27,
put the kids in the costumes and head over to Menotomy Rocks Park.
You'll see spine-tingling stations along the candle-lit path around the
pond, and finish up with donuts on the Jason Street field. Entrance will
be at the Jason Street gate, and please bring a flashlight.

If you want to exorcise your creative spirit and set up a spooky, but
family-friendly area, please let us know. The more spooky areas, the
more fun the event. Be as bare bones or elaborate as you want. Set up
time starts at 3:00 that afternoon.

Rain date is Sunday October 28. Any date change will be posted here no
later than 2:30pm.

Volunteer Work Day

Please wear work gloves and old clothes and bring any tools you like to work with (loppers, pruners, shovels, small saws).  We’ll have weed-wrenches available.
